DonoH Project Journey

In the world today, one major problem we face is poverty and lack of access to our needs especially in the health sector. This is the major reason we had to come up with DonoH. DonoH is a web application that helps connect patients seeking for funds to donors who are ready to donate funds.
Once the website is opened, it directs you to either SignIn or SignUp either as a donor or a patient. Our target audience are these two individuals. Once one has signed up, it takes the user to the dashboard where they put in their details either as donor or patient. Patients will seek for fund and give reasons why fund should be allocated to him or her. After they submit their details, it will be kept in our record and then we start to find a matching donor. As for donors, they input their details and click on the amount they are willing to donate. It is then left to us to match a patient to the sum donated. Though if a donor seeks to know the patient he is donating to, we ask for the consent of the patient and if possible, a room for them to meet is created. This is the main deal of our website.
In order to come up with this interesting idea, we had to work as a team. I contributed to the ideation, drawing out a sketch of what the website will look like. I also created the designs for the SignUp and SignIn page for both donors and patients. Contribution to the design of the other parts of the website's UI was also done by me. I used Figma to make my designs. Sourcing for ideas through Behance, Dribble and Google. It was a tough thing to do due to the limited time we were given but I luckily was able to finish the parts assigned to me before time and tried helping my other co-designer. For the SignUp page, I made a frame on Figma, used the pencil to sketch out an irregular shape and then I added like an helping hands picture to the shape. The main goal of this was to add aesthetics to the design of the page. After that, I aligned the shape/image to the right of the frame and then added a rectangular frame to the left part of the main frame. It is in this rectangular frame I added sections for first name, last name, password, confirm password, e-mail address e.t.c. When I was done with this, I then made finishing touches to the whole frame and made some adjustments and that's how I came up with our SignUp page. For the SignIn/login page, I added a welcome back text at the top of the frame and at the middle, I added sections for e-mail address and password. Then the call to action button to login at the bottom. Right below the CTA, I provided an option to directly signup from the login page incase of a new user.
During the project, I learnt that time management and communication with your team is key. We had to manage the time we were given and be productive and deliver each of the tasks before the submission time. It wasn't easy but I learnt that if you set your mind to acheive something, it is definitely possible to acheive that thing no matter how much time you have for it. The fact that there was lack of communication between the team and the person who presented for my team made us loose an opportunity to be a part of the demo. It was painful as we had put a lot of work into the project but at the same time we learnt our lessons. It is better next time to work as a team and not just allocate things to members without verifying if they are really capable.
I have learnt a lot throughout the course of this project. It has been a wonderful journey between myself, my team members and Figma and I loved every part of it even though we didn't make the cut. I have learnt from my mistakes and have also learnt how to work under pressure. Thank you ADA for giving me such a wonderful opportunity.
